The World of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner by Ryan Marais

View World of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner in a larger map

Sourcing Commodity Chains (and the movement of Dreamliner parts) are shown in red. Green lines show where completed Dreamliners will be shipped out side of the US, the airlines that purchased them, and the number of Dreamliners the airlines have purchased. Icons show locations of key locations of Dreamliner parts manufacturing (shown in blue) and assembly (show in green). Icons also list information about the parts made and/or assembled in those locations, and the companies involved in manufacturing them.

  1. I like your map, it is easy to navigate. Not sure if it was intentional or not, but I got the feeling that the US being centered on the map made for a stronger visual. Also, good use of different color pins for main assembly sites and ancillary sites.

  2. I like how you have both the suppliers and producers for Boeing and the buyers of the 787 on the same map. There's lots of good info here. Nice job!

  3. The map is great! just like Luke said tho, it seemed like everything was focused in the United States. The different colors also help makes it easy to navigate.
